New Support for Companies Wanting to Sell Overseas  

When you are working hard to make your business a success, you need to know that every decision you make is the right one for you, your business, and your future. 

The Department for International Trade (DIT) has announced a new programme of support available via local Growth Hubs for new and/or inexperienced exporters who are exploring new growth opportunities. 

Under the Enhanced Export Growth Project an ERDF funded project delivered across the West Midlands, businesses can now access specialist support via a new team of dedicated International Trade Specialists - Channel Managers.


This free service offers the unique opportunity to access a wide range of advice clinics, events, and practical workshops to give businesses the knowledge and skills needed to become successful exporters. 


Working alongside the DIT team in the Chamber, Channel Managers will help to support those companies who are not quite ‘export ready’ but have the potential and can be mentored to a position of strength. 

At this point, the Channel Manager will introduce the business to the DIT team so that an International Trade Advisor can take them further into the world of winning international business.

Enhanced Export Growth Project 

Advice and support can be offered on a range of topics including: 

  • Initial triage helping you to identify the needs of your business

  • Mapping the fundamental stages of internationalisation and steps needed to progress your export journey

  • Guidance and support covering importing goods

  • Access to the latest news surrounding the Transition and COVID-19

  • Managing Finance when trading internationally

  • Support on shipping goods and dealing with customs controls


Support is tailored to ensure businesses have access to the most relevant advice and support based on a range of factors covering export experience, support needs and appetite for growth. 

Every company’s experience of exporting is different. But the good news is that – whatever the business size – the rewards from selling products and services overseas can be huge.

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) is a high-income country with a population of some 34 million- by far the most important market in the Gulf Cooperation Council. It has a growing reputation as an important destination for many foreign brands and companies in many different sectors.

KSA is carrying out several large-scale projects as part of its Vision 2030, including a high-tech city called Neom and a megacity for culture, sports and entertainment in Qiddiya.
