MEET LINDA - AUTOMATED TEMPERATURE MONITORING FROM FORTRESS INTERLOCKS
Wolverhampton based Fortress Interlocks has over 60 years’ experience in protecting people from dangerous machinery and in these uncertain times other measures are being taken in order to keep people safe at work.
Linda, the automated temperature monitoring system, integrates a temperature reader with existing automation technology and existing site RFID badges to provide access only when a normal forehead temperature is confirmed.
The temperature of each employee is recorded at the start of the day with local indication of an acceptable or over temperature reading displayed to personnel immediately via lamp indicators.
A robust and low labour procedure to temperature taking is enforced by controlling access through doors and turnstiles whilst a clear database record of temperatures is saved on the
Fortress supplied IPC.
As manual temperature checks have started to take place, Fortress decided to adapt their technology to not only automate this process but to ensure those taking the temperature readings are safe and are not unduly exposed to illness.
Their inspiration for the name is based on Linda Richards who in 1873 created a system for keeping individual patient records later adopted across the United States.
LAW FIRM WELCOMES NEW IP PROTECTION WITH LAUNCH OF DIGITAL ASSET FINGERPRINTING
Innovators can now take advantage of a new online digital fingerprinting service that has been launched to help protect designs and innovations from copycat misuse.
It is a development that David Preece in FBC Manby Bowdler’s Corporate Team believes will help asset owners to safeguard every stage of their development and commercialisation cycle and speed up any subsequent litigation process.
Known as WIPO PROOF, the service has been launched by The World Intellectual Property Organisation. It is designed to safeguard intellectual assets by creating date and time-stamped digital fingerprints when information is uploaded.
The digital fingerprinting provided by WIPO PROOF can not only protect any intellectual outputs that can be generated in the form of a digital file, but it will also support the speeding up of any subsequent litigation over copyright, design or patent, by recording and confirming each stage.
David said, “In our increasingly digital world, and with increased collaboration, there is a heightened risk that security of IP may be breached, so anything that creators can do to protect themselves is important."
